About trademark renewals

A trademark registration can be renewed up to 6 months before the renewal date. Upon renewal, the Office will issue a Renewal Certificate confirming that the registration has been renewed for the next 10 year period.

If the renewal fee is not paid by the renewal date, then the mark becomes expired. However, the owner is allowed an extra 6 months from the renewal date in which to renew the registration, but there is an extra fee of £50 for late renewal as well as the main renewal fee.
